Stock market data is everywhere, but understanding why a stock moves is still hard. Most platforms drown you in price charts and ticker symbols, yet completely miss the narrative. They leave you juggling a dozen news tabs just to figure out what actually moved the needle.
We wanted a tool that doesn't just show you numbers, but connects the dots between real world events and portfolio impact. StockSense combines FinBERT-powered sentiment analysis with GPT-generated summaries and live price data, so you get a clear, human-readable picture of what's driving the market. No more guesswork, just context.
This project was born in our senior capstone course at the University of South Carolina. Over two semesters, we set out to prove that AI can make financial data not only accessible, but genuinely useful for everyday investors.
