Forgotten Labyrinth is a 2D roguelike where players progress through a selected level and battle enemies on their way to the end and defeat one final boss at the end of each run. Players will encounter a variety of enemies with unique mechanics that will challenge the player when traversing the map. Defeating certain enemies will drop a power up that will enhance the player's stats. Once completing a run by defeating the final boss, the player's score and runtime for the level will be saved to the database to be shown on the leaderboards. Play the game over and over to try and get the highest score and the fastest runtime you can!
Loading into the main screen gives the player a variety of options. The Play button starts a run. The Character option allows the player to switch between a male and female character. The Leaderboard shows player scores and run times for each map. In the top-right of the screen is the Settings button, which allows the player to change controls and audio settings. The player may also enter Cheat Mode through Settings to test player stats, items, power-ups, and enemies.
Selecting the play button, the player has the option of choosing the specific map they want to play. Each map has similar enemies except for the final boss. Each map's final boss is different with different mechanics. As the player progresses through the map, they will either encounter a basic enemy that when defeated will give gold, a mini-boss that drops a power-up to enhance the player, and a final boss. The player can also find a shopkeeper found within the map which they can purchase items from that will help them survive in the map. Once the final boss is defeated, thus the run is completed, the score and runtime for that level is shown in the leaderboard for all players to see.
